The Spanish veteran’s constant points-scoring exploits within the opening rounds of the season, spearheaded by fifth in Jeddah, laid the foundations for Aston’s run to fifth place within the constructors’ championship, and sixth locations in Canada and Azerbaijan defied the decline.
