The FIA World Endurance Championship officers have confirmed the #7 Toyota has been excluded from qualifying for the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, selling Fernando Alonso onto pole place for his debut within the sequence.
Mike Conway and Kamui Kobayashi mixed to steer Toyota to pole place for the season-opening race at Spa on Friday, ending three-tenths of a second away from Alonso and co-driver Kazuki Nakajima within the #8 Toyota, which completed P2.
Nevertheless, the #7 Toyota will now begin tomorrow’s race from the pit lane after it was discovered that the gasoline stream meter on the automotive didn’t adjust to the gear declaration type, leading to its lap instances being cancelled.
